Dennis Wienhold, age 77, of Newell, Iowa died on Friday, February 12, 2021 at his home in Newell. Private family services will be held. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Dennis Lee Wienhold was born February 26, 1943 in Kankakee, Illinois the son of Vincent and LaVonne (Buechle) Wienhold.
At a young age, his family settled in Pocahontas County, IA. Dennis attended grade school in Ware, Iowa and later graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1960. While growing up in Pocahontas, Dennis met his future wife, Ruth. On July 21, 1962, Dennis was united in marriage to Ruth Carol Davis in Omaha, Nebraska. Together, they were blessed with four children: Alan, Randy, Rick, and Kim.
Dennis was talented machinist and welder, so much so, he operated his own machine shop. He took great pride in making body shop equipment that would last a lifetime and not break. Dennis and Ruth raised deer and antelope on their homestead which led them on many travels together. Dennis also enjoyed hunting and taxidermy work.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children: [redacted]; eight grandchildren:[redacted]; brother, Gary (Elaine) Wienhold; extended family and friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth; and parents-in-law, Joseph and Rita Davis.
