Metta Joan Clancy passed away on August 8, 2017. She was born on December 21, 1929 to Anthony Vonderheide and Bessie Keller in Effingham, Illinois. She married Robert Clancy on January 1, 1955 in Effingham, Illinois. They were married for 54 years. He passed away on January 27, 2009.
Metta was a devout Catholic and was a member of St James The Just and involved in Adoration, was a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. She enjoyed painting and sewing.
She is survived by her son, Timothy Clancy, daughters; Teresa Clancy and Lori Kennedy; 5 grandchildren; Maureen (Eric) Ranks, Ian (Holly) Tabaracci, Samantha (Bob) Rensel, Maggie Calder, and Jack Kennedy. Also survived by brothers Ray Vonderheide, Wayne Vonderheide, and Eugene Vonderheide; sisters Elaine Hartke and Barbara Hartke. She is preceded in death by Robert Clancy, Karen Clancy and Kevin Clancy.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Mountain Ridge Assisted Living; her senior companion, Vivian Martinez; Abby and Justin from Peak Hospice; Holly Pell, Ian Tabaracci and Deb Rockwell, all the angels who helped her daughter Terry care for her over the past 7 years.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James The Just Catholic Church, 495 North Harrison Blvd, Ogden. Internment will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 North Monroe Blvd., Ogden.
