Tulsa - JOHN B. FREIDENBERGER, 71, of Tulsa, a physician and volunteer, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2007.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Rose Hill Funeral Home Chapel, Tulsa, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.

John was born June 11, 1936, in Pueblo, Colo., to Anna and George Freidenberger. He grew up in LaJunta, Colo. He earned his bachelor's degree from Phillips University in Enid, and graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 1969.
John had family practices in Duncan and Sapulpa, but spent most of his career as an emergency room physician. He worked in several Oklahoma cities, including Sand Springs, Mannford, Broken Arrow, Henryetta, Cushing and Okmulgee.

He also worked for clinics that care for low-income families. John was employed by the Morton Homeless Clinic and the Tulsa Jail, and he volunteered at the Indian Health Care Resource Center.

Survivors include four daughters, Beverly Fowler and Carrie Kidwell, both of Broken Arrow, Jennifer Turner of Duncan, and Shanna Freidenberger of Seattle, Wash.; two sons, John K. Freidenberger and John Lamb, both of Norman; a brother, Sonny Freidenberger of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and seven grandchildren.
