Obituary ~ Lawrence Edward Zyla, 67, passed away March 26, 2021. Born February 25, 1954, one of ten children to Beverly and Walter Zyla in Omaha, Nebraska. He was raised in Omaha, Nebraska, graduated from Bryan High School in 1972; served in the U. S. Army from 1973-1979, as an E-4 Military Police Officer. His honors included National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
Larry had a long and successful law enforcement career, serving a combined 36 years with the El Paso International Airport, Odessa Police Department, and the Ector County Sheriff's Department.
Larry married his high school sweetheart, Gail Zyla on September 14, 1974 in Omaha, Nebraska. They relocated to Fort Bliss, Texas then to Odessa, TX where they lived for twenty-eight years until they retired to Corpus Christi, Texas in 2012.
Larry is preceded in death his by parents, Beverly and Walter; brother Charles; neice Sabrina. He is survived by his wife, of 46 years, Gail; sons, Kevin (Sonia) and Patrick (Brandi); grandchildren, Kiersten, Sasha and Marcus; brothers David (Shelly) and Walt; sisters Diane (Fred), Chris (Vern), Cheryl (Rick), Margaret, Denise and Cindy. Many neices and nephews.
