Margie Marie Vilmo was born on February 23, 1941, in rural Ada, MN to Edward and Verna (Rabe) Vilmo. Margie was the youngest of three girls. She attended rural school near Ada and graduated from Ada High School.
Margie was united in marriage to James Janisch on June 24, 1961 at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Ada. They made their home in East Grand Forks, MN. Over the years Margie worked as a bookkeeper at Mave's Optical, First National Bank and Bridgeman Creamery. She was a Hearing Specialist at Wakefield's. She also worked at American Crystal Sugar Company as a Chemistry Lab Forman. Throughout the years she assisted James with his electrical business. All this, while raising their three children.
Margie's extra-curricular activities during her life have included fishing, hunting and teaching her grandchildren how to ski. Anyone who knew Margie, knew how extremely talented she was as an avid crafter of so many things. Some of which were sewing, leather working, macramé, ceramics, woodworking, stamping, scratch art, and 3-D picture making. She also had a fondness for her flower gardens. Margie had taught different classes on crafting. She loved to show others about her crafts and passing on her techniques to others.
Margie is survived by her husband, James, Viking, MN; two daughters: Jeanette Janisch, Duluth, MN; Sharon Schufletowski, Glyndon, MN; one son: Daniel Janisch, Crookston, MN; six grandchildren: Jessica (Donald) Marwitz, Thief River Falls, MN; Derek Janisch, Augusta, GA; Jordan Schwarz, Windsor, CO; Ariel (Joey) Barta, Grand Forks, ND; Taylor Janisch, Coon Rapids, MN; and Cassandra (Tony) Krewson, Grand Forks, ND; three great grandchildren: Brendon Marwitz, Thief River Falls, MN; Lillia Barta, Grand Forks, ND; and Kinsley Krewson, Grand Forks, ND; one sister: Beverly Hoven, Ada. MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Verona Dauner and her grandson Brandon Janisch.
Funeral: 11:00AM Friday, July 6, 2018, at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Ada, MN.
Visitation: One hour before the funeral at the church.
Burial: St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Ada, MN."
