Vivian Louise Homesley Wood, 77, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on April 14, 2021.

Vivian was born on June 12, 1943, to Earl Homesley and Imogene Bode Homesley in San Saba, Texas.

She spent most of her childhood in Llano, Texas and graduated from Llano High School in 1961.

In the summer of 1960, Vivian met Leo Wood at a movie theater in Llano and married him in San Saba on August 12, 1961. Later, they moved to Rosebud, Texas, and then to Georgetown. They had three sons, Eric, Owen, and John.

Vivian worked at the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce from 1970-1987, serving as its executive director for many of those years. For several years afterward, she worked at the Texas Private Industry Council. In 1994, she was elected Williamson County Treasurer and served in that capacity for twenty years. Vivian served in all offices of the County Treasurers' Association of Texas (CTAT), and as its president, she also served on the Texas Association of Counties Board of Directors. In 2006, she was appointed to the TexPool Advisory Board by the Texas State Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn. She was named the Texas Outstanding County Treasurer in 2004 and designated a life member of CTAT in 2014.

From her humble roots riding her horse to school, to her rise to prominence in Georgetown, Vivian lived by her words, "You get what you give. If you're nice to people, people are nice to you. If you work hard, it comes back." She gave her heart to her beloved State of Texas, and to her career, but her family and friends were the greatest love of her life. Vivian said she was imbued with a sense of where her place was in the world and the security that came with knowing that place. Now her place will always be in the hearts of the numerous friends, family, and colleagues whose lives she touched.

Vivian was predeceased by her parents; her brothers Wayne Homesley (surviving wife Sheila Homesley) and Robert "Buzz" Homesley; father-in-law Ernest Wood; and mother-in-law Allie Garrett Wood.

She is survived by sons Eric Wood (wife Tonia), Owen Wood (wife Nancy Gilliam), and John Wood (wife Shannon); grandchildren Madeleine Wood and Caleb Wood; great-granddaughter Evelyn Wood; sister Debi Ramirez (husband Willie); brother Tom Ed Homesley; sisters-in-law Clara Crain (husband Lusty) and Angelene Vaughn (husband Billy); brother-in-law Howard Wood; sister-in-law Vivian Wood; a large loving extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins; a host of long-time friends; and her beloved poodle Sassy.

The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Rocky Hollow Lake House and Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21 at the Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, and the funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 22 at the funeral home. Masks are strongly encouraged.

Burial will be held at the Llano City Cemetery following the service.

Pallbearers will be Eric Wood, Owen Wood, John Wood, Caleb Wood, Jason Ramirez, and Billy Vaughn.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Literacy Council WILCO or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
