Ignatius Gehringer

Ignatius Joseph Gehringer, 91, of 605 S. Starr Ave., died at 11:33 a.m. Sunday, March 31, 1991, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born Sept. 2, 1899, in St. Marys, Iowa, he was the son of Frank and Adelaide Limke Gehringer. He married Nelle Ryan Dec. 31, 1928, in Washington, Iowa. She died Jan. 31, 1983.

He was a former Mercy Hospital engineer and retired from Iowa Southern Utilities Co. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are two sons, Joseph F. Gehringer and David J. Gehringer, both of Burlington; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy(Gary) Welcher, Mount Pleasant, Mrs. Geneva(Richard)Morrison, Burlington, and Mrs. Louise(John)Christian, Williamston, Mich.; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will recieve friends from 7 to 9p.m. today with a wake service at 7:30 p.m. at Prugh's Chapel.

The funeral for Mr. Gehringer will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Catholic Church with the Rev. Carl Leveling officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
