Evelyn Marie Weber was born December 27, 1925, to Joseph and Mary (Tauer) Reiner in Springfield MN. She attended school at St. Raphael's grade school, living with the nuns at the convent during the winter months and graduated from Springfield High School. She met the love of her life and married William "Bud" Weber on June 17, 1946. Bud and Evie began their life farming in Bashaw Township where they tilled the soil, milked cows and raised their family of 10 children. Bud and Evie's life is a true love story of two soul mates working together. She loved working in her huge vegetable and flower gardens, sewing clothes for her children, and being involved in many church and community activities. She helped organize the Lake Shore 4-H club where she served as an adult leader for many years, was a member of Knitting Club, Book Clubs, the Brown County Extension Club, and was a member of St. Ann's CCW in which she served as an officer for several years. She taught Religious Ed for St. Raphael students and led many Bible Studies. She was a Rosary Leader and presented with the Bishop's Service Award and the St. Boniface CAA Service Award.
"Ding-Dong, Avon calling!" She filled her spare time selling Avon, which gave her the opportunity to meet and make new friends and stay in touch with lifelong ones. She was a consistent recipient of Avon's prestigious Albee Award. Evie's hobbies included making hundreds of quilts for the San Lucas Mission in Guatemala as well as for her children and many other family members. Collecting music boxes was also another of her joys and would often wind them up one by one to listen to the tunes. Dad made sure to find many that played "Somewhere, My Love", the theme song from Dr. Zhivago, which was her favorite.
Evie always lit up when grandkids walked in the door and you would often hear her say "Whatever your little heart desires!" Complete with hugs and kisses! She was everyone's Grandma!
Evie is survived by her children - Laura Bast of Springfield, MN, Larry Weber of Springfield, MN, Joleen (Tom) Amberg of Redwood Falls, MN, Carol Brennan of New Ulm, MN, Wayne (Dee) Weber of Morgan, MN, Jean (Larry) Lang of Glenwood, MN, Wanita (Jerry) Nosbush of Park Rapids, MN, Clarice (Mike) Platz of Springfield, MN, Mary (Curt) Schmit of Randolph, WI, and Michelle Schultz of Morgan, MN; she had also requested that Debbie Seidl, Robin Paulson, Jean Weber, and Helen Gresch also be included as daughters, as they have been forever in her heart; 36 grandchildren; 71 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brother Wallace (Myrtle) Reiner of Springfield, MN; brother-in Law Gerald Weber of Virginia, MN; many nieces, nephews; and extended family members and numerous friends. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother Donald Reiner; 3 sons-in-law - Tim Brennan, Ken Bast, and Keith 'Sam' Schultz; 3 grandchildren - baby Lang, Joseph Fishel, and Jodi Amberg; 1 brother-in-law; 2 sisters-in-law; 1 niece; and 1 nephew.
