Alec Wambolt

Alec Sander Wambolt, 79, of Greeley, died Monday, March 10, in the StarCare Unit at Bonell Good Samaritan Center.

He was born Sept 4, 1917 in Windsor to George and Mary (Hettinger) Wambolt.

On July 5, 1940, he married Madeline E. Borgens in Torrington, Wyo.

Mr. Wambolt was reared and educated in Windsor, where he graduated from high school. He was a farmer, cattle feeder and dairyman for 34 years in the Windsor and Ault areas. He also worked for Western Mutual Ditch Co. and retired in 1993 after 17 years. He was awarded the High-Ten Beet Growers Award in 1967.

He was a former member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Windsor, where he was baptized and confirmed.

Survivors are his wife, Madeline; two daughters, Janet Winder and Judith Lentz; three sons, Alexander, Robert and James; three sisters, Lydia Potter, Mary Weichel and Frieda Hahn; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A daughter Ruth Wambolt died in 1968; and three sisters, Katie, Molly and Elizabeth, and three brothers, David, Jacob and George, are deceased.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Adamson Memorial Chapel.

Contributions may be made to the StarCare unit at Bonell Good Samaritan Center or the Shepherd of the Hills Evangelical Lutheran Church, both in care of the Adamson Mortuary, 827 5th St., Greeley 80631.
