Norbert Mathias Neisen, 82, of Watertown, South Dakota died Sunday, October 28, 2007 at his home in Watertown.

Funeral mass will be Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Watertown.

Military Honors will be conducted by the Codington County Post 17 of the American Legion.

Visitation at the Wight, Comes and Sogn Funeral Chapel in Watertown.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. John Stransky, Dr. Gerald Tracy, Dr. Ted Wrage, Dr. Jim Larson, Dr. John Rittmann, Loren Stein, Earle Kinsman, Rich Guddal, Tom Roby, Bob Ross, past and present physicians and staff of Brown
Clinic, and his grandchildren, Lindsey Neisen, Whitney Neisen, Mary Foley, Megan Lauseng, Ashley Neisen, Maggie Lauseng, Taylor Neisen, Molly Lauseng, Shane Andresen and Cody Andresen. Active pallbearers will be his grandsons
Matthew Neisen, Eric Langenfeld, Brad Langenfeld, Ryan Neisen, Nicholas Neisen, Andrew Foley, Michael Langenfeld, Aaron Neisen, John Foley, Joseph Foley and Thomas Foley.

Norbert Mathias Neisen, the son of John C. and Gertrude (Gerardy) Neisen was born on March 25, 1925 at Union Hill, Minnesota. His mother passed away in 1932 and he and his siblings were orphaned in 1933 when their father drowned in Lake Kampeska. Norb then made his home with his Aunt Lena and Uncle Matt Langenfeld in Watertown. He attended Immaculate Conception Grade School and Watertown High School. Upon graduation in 1943, he entered the United States Army Air Corps and served in the European Theater as a nose gunner in B-24s. After completing 46 successful bombing missions he was honorably discharged in 1945 and returned to South Dakota.

September 19, 1946 he married Mary Ann Miller at Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown.

Norb attended South Dakota State University, the Nettleton Business College and the Academy of Accounting in Minneapolis. He joined Russell Brown, M.D. on April 1, 1950 as his clinic business manager and held that position with Brown Clinic until he retired in 1987.

Norb was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and served on most its committees, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, a life member of the Medical Group Management Association and the American College of Medical Group Administrators. A life member, he served as the president of the South Dakota Medical Group Management Association. He was a charter member of the Watertown Sertoma Club and one of the founders of the
Watoma Relays. In 1969, Norb was chosen Honorary Referee of the 12th Annual Watoma Relays. In 2005, Norb was inducted into the Watertown High School Sports Hall of Fame.

Norb was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann, his parents, his Aunt Lena and Uncle Matt, eight brothers, Ted Neisen, Alfred Neisen, John Neisen, Matt Langenfeld Jr., Judd Langenfeld, Butch Langenfeld, Bill Langenfeld, Joe
Langenfeld, and six sisters, Pauline (Neisen) Schindle, Frances Langenfeld, Verena (Langenfeld) Vossberg, Monica (Langenfeld) Lamoureaux, Vivian (Langenfeld) Clarke, and Dolores (Langenfeld) Verschoor.

He is survived by one brother John Langenfeld of Rapid City, South Dakota, one sister, Helen (Neisen) Weiers of Belle Plaine, Minnesota, his four sons, James (Gayle) Neisen of Rapid City, SD, Thomas Neisen of Spearfish, John
(Francia) Neisen of Peoria, Arizona and Andrew (Kristy) Langenfeld of Alexandria, Minnesota, and his two daughters Ann (Todd) Lauseng, and Patricia (Vincent) Foley of Watertown, 21 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
