Edward J. Wendel, 88, Fort Recovery, died at 1:25 p.m. Monday at Briarwood Manor, coldwater. He was born July 11, 1904, in Carthagena, to John and Magdalena (Lehman) Wendel. Survivors are a sister, Clara M. Meier, Celina; two brothers, Rudolph, Fort Recovery, and Louis, Celina; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother. Mr. Wendel was a retired farmer and carpenter and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Fort Recovery. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Revs. Cornelius Fenton and Paul Wohlwend officiating.
