Rosa Mae Trimble Clampitt was the daughter of George William Trimble and Margarette Elizabeth Henderson Trimble. She married Richard Carter "Dick" Clampitt March 31, 1900 at Marlow, Okla. When Rosa was 16, she met a nice young man that played the fiddle at the dances her father had at their home. Rosa was the belle of the neighborhood. He asked Rosa to marry him. Rosa said yes but did not ask her father. Rosa and her sister, Pearl sewed a wedding dress in secret. When her father found out, he said your not going to marry a fiddle player. You are going to marry Dick Clampitt. She obeyed her father and was glad that she did. She found out, she really loved Dick and he was a kind, generous and loving husband. When I was a little boy and went to visit Grandma, she would send me to the corner grocery store to buy orange slices candy and orange soda pop. These were her favorites. Now they are my favorites. Rosa loved to crochet and embroidery. She also made beautiful hand braided rag rugs. She was a true Christian and one of the sweetest persons that I have ever known.
