Funeral services were held Monday, July 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church, Ossian, with the Rev. Richard W. Kuhn officiating.
Burial was at the church cemetery, with Schmitz Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were David Dahms, George Tekippe, Tony Meyer, Dean Kipp, Daryl Kipp and Dale Kipp, grandsons of the deceased.
Margaret Kipp was born April 9, 1896, in Maine, Minn., the daughter of James and Mary Ann (Scott) McManus. She attended rural schools of Maine, and the Teachers College at Moorhead, Minn. She then taught school in Minnesota and at Isabel, S. D.
She married Anthony A. Kipp Aug. 21, 1921, at Fergus Falls, Minn. They moved to Ayr, N. D., where they operated a general store until 1928. The family moved to Iowa and resided near Castalia until moving to Ossian in 1961.
She was a member of St. Francis de Sales parish and Rosary Society, and an honorary member of the Catholic Daughters of America, American Legion Auxiliary and the Tuesday Club of Castalia.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth (Vivan) Kipp of Waukon; a daughter Colette (Wayne) Dahms of Castalia; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, who died Aug. 2, 1978, and five sisters and six brothers.
