EDWARD PIEDALUE
Edward Arthur Piedalue, 80, of Ronan died Saturday in the West Side Rest Home in Ronan after a long illness. Rosary was recited Monday in the Catholic Church in Ronan and Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated there Tuesday by the Rev. Thomas Fenlon and Deacon Howard Hubert. Military graveside services were conducted at the Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Shrider Mortuary of Ronan. Pallbearers were Kermit Anderson, Loren Clary, Robert Johns, Robert Roseleip Jr,; George Stonehocker and Gerald Leighton.
Honorary pallbearers were Everett Kruddle, Clyde Pendergraft, Jack Ishmael, Robert Roseleips Sr., Robert Sterling, Ed Crawford and Harvey Cole.
Ed was born Aug. 28, 1896, at Lamar, Neb., and moved to Frenchtown in the same year. He moved to Ronan in 1909.
Mr. Piedalue married Marcella Hepp June 12, 1922. He was a rancher and he operated Piedalue Dairy in Ronan for 25 years.
He served the Army during World War 1, and he was a director of the Federal Land Bank for 36 years. He served on the Lake County Weed Control Board for 20 years, and he was a director of the Co-op Supply of Lake County for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Marcella, Ronan; four sons Kenneth, Albert and Eugene, all of Ronan, and Floyd of Clinton; one daughter Peggy Johnson, St Ignatius; one brother, Eugene, El Cajon, Calif.; three sisters; Anna Pulis of Ronan, Alice Menager of Victor and Bertha Bouchard of Sidney; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
