Robert (Bob) C Sorensen, 83, peacefully passed away July 14, 2021, surrounded by his children. He was born April 8, 1938 in Vineyard, UT to Mads Hyrum Sorensen and Della Bertha Hansen. He was drafted into the United States Army and served primarily in Hawaii as a chauffeur for dignitaries around the islands. Bob married his sweetheart, Melva Kay Baum, on August 24, 1965 in Evanston, WY. They were later sealed in the Provo Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had 52 wonderful years together. After her passing, he spoke often and fondly of her.

Bob's military service led him to a career of long-haul truck driving from which he retired in 2004. As the baby of eight, he was teased relentlessly, a legacy he continued with his children and grandchildren. Soft-spoken and not one to waste words, he had a witty sense of humor and was both hilarious and quotable. He enjoyed cooking meals to bring the family together and teaching the grandkids card games.

Bob and Kay had five children: Teri Levicki, Kyle Gregory (deceased), Todd (Lainie), Dana Coates, and Keni (Jarrod) Butler. They had 16 grandchildren and a growing number of great-grandchildren. Bob was a great man who will be missed by all, but never forgotten.

Friends and family may attend a visitation Wednesday July 21, 2021 from 11:00 AM – 12:45 PM at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem. Funeral Services will follow starting 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery where full military rites will be performed by American Legion post 72.
