Catherine French was the eighth child born to Savage French and his wife Mary Towgood. In her father's words; My daughter Catherine was borne at St.Finbarry's Saturday the 12th September 1741 half an hour after nine in the morning. Christened at St.Finbarry's Church Saturday 26th October 1741, the Rev. Mr.Boyle Davis and Malahy Kelly Godfathers; Mrs. Melian Stawell and Mrs. Catherine Knapp Godmothers

1767 Faulkner's Dublin Journal 17 Jan 1767
"At St Nicholas Church, Cork, Michael Becher Esq. of Creagh to Miss Catherine French dau of Savage French of this city." [Also in Freeman's Journal 17 Jan 1767]

Catherine and Michael Becher had six children; Mary Towgood Becher 1768, Rev. John Thomas Becher 1769, Rev. Michael Henry Becher 1773, Helena Becher, George Towgood Becher, Elizabeth Mary Becher.

Michael Henry Becher died in 1778 and Catherine died in Jan 1809 and was buried on 6th Jan 1809 at Kilshannig near Mallow, where her son Michael Henry Becher was incumbent.
