Sara Sue Herdt, 93, of Caldwell passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007 at a local care center. She was born April 22, 1914 at Loveland, Colo. to Carl and Marguerite Eisenbarth. She was one of 14 children. When Sara was a child, the family moved to Torrington, Wyo., where she was reared and educated. She married David Herdt on Jan. 20, 1935. They farmed in Torrington until 1945 when they moved to Caldwell, where they continued to farm until Dave's death on Oct. 8, 1978. Sara was preceded in death by her parents, all of her brothers and sisters and husband. She is survived by her son, Gary and wife, Renee, of Caldwell; daughter, Janice Devine of Sacramento, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. Sara was a longtime member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Caldwell and helped in the building of the church. She was a wonderful, fun-loving mother, grandmother and mother-in-law who touched many lives. We shall all miss her. At her request, Sara will be cremated and a private family service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
