Mildred "Millie" Nierhoff of Springfield died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at Villa Health Care East, where she had been a resident for 11 years. Millie was born June 10, 1918, in Canton, Ohio, and moved to Springfield at a young age. She married William "Bill" Nierhoff on Jan. 26, 1946. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Bill, in 1982.
Millie was a waitress for many years and an employee of Illinois Bell Telephone Co. until her retirement.
She is survived by a stepdaughter; five grandsons; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; a sister-in-law and her caregiver.
Cremation services by Bisch & Son Funeral Home, with private burial in Camp Butler National Cemetery. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
