JOHN DANIEL KLEMM

Ankeny, Iowa

JOHN DANIEL KLEMM, 82, passed away at Mercy Hospice on March 9, 2009, from complications of heart disease.

JOHN was born March 22, 1926 in Des Moines, IA, and graduated from Dowling High School.

A mass of the Resurrection will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at St. Mary of Nazareth Catholic Church.

Burial to follow at ST, JOHN CATHOLIC CEMETERY [sic], in Cumming, Warren County, Iowa.

JOHN was united in marriage to VIRGINIA COLLEEN FREDREGILL, on May 1, 1948 at St. Augustin's Catholic Church in Des Moines, Iowa.

He retired from the G.W. Onthank Company as board secretary. JOHN then worked with his wife VIRGINIA at Cassaday Refrigeration Company where he retired as vice-president.

JOHN was a member of St. Mary of Nazareth Catholic Church and the Holy Sepulcher.

JOHN served in the Army in the 746th Artillery Division in the Philippines during WORLD WAR II.

JOHN was a lifetime member of the Boline-Manfredi Post 9622 VFW in Ankeny. John volunteered his time in retirement to his grandchildren and the St. Vinc ent DePaul Society.

JOHN enjoyed camping, traveling, and his fifteen grandchildren; Jenifer, Jacqueline, Katie, Nicole, Christine, Denyse, Zeb, Shane, April, Elizabeth, Steve, Michele, Eric, Amy and Matthew, and his nineteen great-grandchildren.
His sense of humor and loving nature will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation begins 2 p.m. Friday at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions can be made to Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa, or the district council of St. Vincent DePaul Society in Des Moines, Iowa.
