Nicholas "Nick" C. Vass, 60, of Orange Park, FL, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2005. Born on September 23, 1944 in Woonsocket, RI, he was a security manager and was very active in law enforcement for the past 30 years. He was a member of the Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary and a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Jacksonville, FL. Mr. Vass served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the ASIS and NRA. A Clay County resident for the past 30 years he was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Mabelle Vass and is survived by his fiancée, Ina B. Webb of Orange Park, FL and his brother, Brian Vass of New Hampshire. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at St. Peters Episcopal Church with Father Tony Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday (TODAY) at Broadus-Raines & Pons Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the charity of your choice.
