Jennifer K. Swoboda, 60, of 1323 Bel Air Blvd., Chippewa Falls, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire after recently being diagnosed with kidney cancer.

She was born March 28, 1947, in Eau Claire to Jennie Marie (Rudd) and Olford J. Storlie. She grew up in Hallie and attended Chippewa Falls schools.

Jennifer married William B. Swoboda on June 16, 1961, in Waukon, Iowa. She was employed at Chip-Tronics, then at Cray Research, and was currently employed at SGI, where she had worked for the past 25 years.

She was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls.

Survivors include her husband, Bill of Chippewa Falls; two daughters, Lynn (Tim) Ayers of Chippewa Falls and Julie Swoboda of Eau Claire; two sons, Bill (Cassie) Swoboda of Prescott and Arnie Swoboda of Chippewa Falls; a sister, Linda (Dewey) Olson of Altoona; two brothers, Milton Storlie of Chippewa Falls and Doug (Jackie) Storlie of Two Rivers; seven grandchildren, Ty and Ben Nesja, Brandalee (Chad) Sikora, and Emily and Evan Swoboda, Corissa and Billy Swoboda; one great-grandson, Bryce Sikora; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Jody, in infancy; and two sisters, Dorothy Jennings and June Radisewitz.

A memorial service will be held at noon Monday, Dec. 3, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls, with Father Edmund Doerre celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Entombment will be in Hope Mausoleum, Chippewa Falls.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. There will be a Christian vigil service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.

Jennifer loved quilting, and had made quilts for all of her grandchildren and several other family members. She also was a talented artist and gave her paintings to her relatives as housewarming gifts. Her positive personality and her sense of humor were infectious to all she met, which brought many people close to her as friends. She will be dearly missed, especially by her family and her nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jennifer's name may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
