Right after noon, Sunday, Mr. Fritz Hackfeld, 65, a well known carpenter and windmill repairman, fell from a 35-foot windmill tower at the A. Ideus Filling Station, N. Riedel St., this city, and died instantly. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, the burial being in Westside Cemetery. Mr. Hackfeld lived for a number of years in Hallettsville and was married there to Miss Mina Lehmann in 1894. Six years later, they moved to De Witt County. Surviving are four children, Mrs. Alfred Lundschen of Cuero, Mrs. Henry Ladewig of Hallettsville, Mrs. O.D. Jones of Marfa, and Mrs. B. Lundschen of Yorktown; 5 grandchildren, brother Henry of Roscoe, and sister, Mrs. Sophie Dicke of Moulton.
