Marlene was born on May 31, 1939, in Los Angeles, California to the late John J. Hegwald and Thelma M Hegwald. She was raised in Los Angeles, moving to Wills Point in 1971 from Garland. She married Mason Day on June 21, 1958. She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Locust Grove. Marlene worked in the nursing field as an LVN for 35 years. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, sewing and music.
Marlene is survived by her daughters, Linda Day of Wills Point and Brenda Rose and husband Paul of Wills Point; daughter in law Sandi Day of Wills Point; sister Beverly SanFilippo and Brian of Utah; sister in laws Jackie Hegwald and Carole Hegwald; grandchildren, Chris Sokolovich and Allison, Nicole McKiddy and Chris, Jessica Shinn and Matt, Stephanie Day, Shannon Danks and Jason, Sam Stevens, Emily Baxter and Billy and Terry Day; along with 12 great grandchildren and many other loving relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Andy Day and brothers, Everett, Donald and Dean Hegwald.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Allan Fuller Funeral Home with visitation being held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow services at Locust Grove Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at allanfullerfuneralhome.com.
