Charles Muncy was a teacher, merchant, banker and well-known political figure. Attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute, graduating with an Agriculture degree in 1875. He owned a general store in Bland, VA and was Clerk of the Court of Bland Co. from 1885 through 1899. He was the chief organizer of the Bank of Bland County and was First Cashier, serving in that position until his death.

Pearisburg, Va, Aug 19.- News has just reached here of the death of Charles P Muncey, who died suddenly at his home at Bland Courthouse last night at 11 o'clock. Mr Muncey was a very prominent man in Bland county, was clerk of the court for many years, was a large farmer, and was the founder and cashier of the Bank of Bland county. He leaves a wife and a large family of children.
Mr Muncey was a brother of J L Muncey, of this place.
