Ronald Lynn Eckert, Jr
December 14, 1969 – October 6th, 2021
Ronald 'Ron' Lynn Eckert, Jr, 51, of Moss Point, MS, passed away on Wednesday, October 6th, 2021, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA, in the presence of his father and wife.
Mr. Eckert was born on December 14th, 1969, in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He was a graduate of Moss Point High School Class of 1987, where he was a member of the varsity soccer team and marching band. Upon graduation, he began his career as a marine electrician and had various job opportunities throughout America and abroad, including Russia, China, Africa, and lastly Mexico, where he met the love of his life and wife, Adela.
While his time here ended much too soon, Ron lived a wonderful life in his 51 years. He enjoyed watching the Crimson Tide on Saturdays, weekly golf outings and hunting trips with his brother and friends, time on the water spent fishing and boating with his sons, and weekend excursions with his wife.
Mr. Eckert was preceded in death by his son, Logan Eckert; maternal grandparents, Jack and Emma Lou Brown; and paternal grandfather, Edgar Eckert.
Mr. Eckert is survived by his loving wife, Adela Gaytan (stepson Angel Gaytan); parents, Ronnie and Jackie Eckert; paternal grandmother, Anna Richardson; brother, Scott (Melinda) Eckert; sister Melissa (Matt) Garriga; son, Tyler Eckert (fiancé Destin Holloway); niece, Jordan Eckert; and nephews, Jackson and Sam Garriga and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 11th, 2021, beginning at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church of Moss Point, MS, with Rev. Michael Perry officiating. The service begins at 11:00 am with graveside services immediately following at Machpelah Cemetery. Due to the concerns of Covid-19, the family is requesting masks to be worn.
Pallbearers are Billy Wilder, Andy Davis, Doug Dyess, Chris Gammill, Matt Garriga, and Ricky Finney.
