MONTICELLO, Iowa -- Ronald Merle Matthiessen, 71, of Las Vegas., formerly of Lincoln, Neb., and Monticello, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, in Lincoln.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello. Burial will be in the Hopkinton Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where there will be a parish scripture service at 7 p.m.
Ronald Matthiessen and Cecilia Smith were married on Sept. 9, 1961, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Epworth.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Cecelia (Smith) Matthiessen; his son, Brian Matthiessen, of Las Vegas; his daughter, Cindy Rohnke, of Lincoln; a brother, Robert Matthiessen, of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Greg, Derek, Alaina and Caleb Rohnke and Andrew and Sara Matthiessen.
