She attended a small country school and then transferred to Macon Public School and graduated in 1962. Wanda was united in marriage to Dale Whitley on September 9, 1962. She worked at MASB, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, many years for Charlie Noel and then on to Midwest Fuels. She later owned and operated WW Petroleum/Midwest Fuels until she retired in 2013.
Her retirement was spent doing the things she most loved to do: gardening, tending to her flowers and mowing. A perfect day to her was on her 4-wheeler looking for deer or feeding her catfish while sharing a beer with Steve. Always a classy lady, but as Steve puts it best "a country girl at heart!"
Wanda and Steve were married Dec. 15, 2006. Wanda has three daughters, all of Macon, Chris Whitley DeLozier and her husband Rick, Renee Whitley Sherman, Kim Whitley Keune and her husband Ron; one step-son, Adam Erickson and his wife Lindsey of Ozark, MO; one step-daughter, Megan Erickson Galla and her husband Nick of Macon, MO; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul W. Sandner, sister-in-law, Juanita Sandner, son-in-law, Gerald Boedeker, nephew, Todd Phillips, and great-nephews, Nicholas Sandner, Cory Cannan.
A Celebration of Life memorial service for Steve and Wanda was January 8, 2023, at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon. Private family burial service at Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials to the Randy Johnson Memorial Fund.
