In her 91 years, Eleanor Kreutzer taught her family and friends that love is an action and its often given as a plate of freshly baked cookies, homemade pumpkin pie, or handcrafted noodles delivered to your doorstep.
To those closest to her she was known as Nori, a small but mighty force in this world. She walked fast, worked fast, and prayed fast. She said goodbye peacefully to her earthly life on December 3, 2021 surrounded by family.
Born in 1930 to immigrant farmers , Eleanor was the youngest of six siblings, Herbert, Richard, Robert, Nicholas, and Isabel. Life on the farm formed her into a hardworking, determined woman with a can-do-it attitude that penetrated every aspect of her life. Her earliest memories were rising at dawn to milk the cows and learning to drive the family tractor as soon as her foot could reach the pedal. A graduate of Holcomb High School class of 1948, Nori not only excelled in her perfect penmanship, she also lettered in basketball and developed a lifelong love of shooting hoops.
Soon after high school Eleanor's older brother, Bob, introduced her to his fiancé's younger brother, Marvin Kreutzer, who became the love of her life. In 1950 the two exchanged nuptials at their parish church, St. Mary's in Garden City, and started a family together creating a strong bond of double cousins. Marvin passed away in 1980.
Eleanor is survived by her three children: a daughter and husband, and two sons and their wives, seven grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. She is rejoicing in a heavenly reunion with her parents, five older siblings, husband, and great-granddaughter, Madison Huber.
A Rosary was held at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Funeral Mass was held at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City. Burial
followed at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
