Robert William Henzler, 89, of Pilot Point, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 in Pilot Point, TX. Robert was born December 11, 1927 in Pilot Point, TX to Henry and Mary Catherine Boerner Henzler. Robert married Cora Alice Riney on November 26, 1955 in Denton, TX and served in the US Navy. Robert is survived by his wife Cora Alice of Pilot Point; daughters, Chrystel Fritcher and husband Michael of Pilot Point; Sandra Gust and husband Myron of Cheyenne, WY; Karen Wegendt and husband Jerry of Highland Village, TX; LaNelle Bortz and husband Brian of Durham, NC; sisters, Rosemary Hollar of Pilot Point and Diann Nance of Clarksville, TN.; brother, Henry Henzler of Albuquerque, NM; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary Catherine; brother, Leo Henzler; sisters, Margaret Strittmatter, Marie Henzler and Dolores Luke.Robert served as Past Grand Knight and District Deputy of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of St. Thomas Men's Club, Kiwanis and Past President of the Pilot Point Chamber of Commerce. Robert served on the boards of Denton County Soil and Water Conservation and Flow Hospital in Denton, TX. He also worked as a clerk at the Pilot Point National Bank until he went into partnership with J. Earl Selz, forming Selz and Henzler Insurance.Rosary will be said at 7:00PM with visitation following until 8:30PM, Friday, February 3, 2017 at Slay Memorial Chapel in Pilot Point. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, February 4, 2017 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Pilot Point with Father Raymond McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery in Pilot Point, TX. Pallbearers are Ryan Mackie, Robert Wilson, Brendan Bortz, Justin Fritcher, Adam Fritcher, Benjamin, Andrew and John Wegendt.
