Mrs. Marie Gey, 84-year-old resident of Germantown community, died at her home on Jan. 23rd, and her remains were laid to rest in the Germantown Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Arthur, William, George and Fritz Gey, and two grandson, George W. Gey and Oscar Clements.
Mrs. Gey came from Germany to America in 1884 and moved to Limestone County 51 years ago. She has made this place her home ever since.
The deceased is survived by eight children: William of Detroit, Ernest of Battle Creek, Mich., Elizabeth of Charlotte, Mich., Henry of San Francisco, Elsie of Fairfield, Ala., Arthur, George and Fritz of Germantown community. In addition, 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Three of her grandchildren, SSGT George W. Gey, SSGT William Tomlinson and PVT Albert Edward Gey are in the service. Three nephews and nieces also survive.
Many friends deeply sympathized with the bereaved family in their hour of sorrow.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Gey, who died in 1930.
