MCRAE, Albert Henry of Scarborough, Maine, age 90, died peacefully in his sleep at his residence in Piper Shores Retirement Community on Thursday night, March 1, 2007. Albert was born in Taunton, Mass. on August 28, 1916, a son of Georgiana and John McRae. He grew up in Taunton where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He earned an engineering degree at Northeastern University in Boston, and an MBA at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He spent his lifelong career as a civilian at WPAFB. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. In June 2002, he and his wife Rita moved to Maine and began residence at Piper Shores. Albert and Rita enjoyed over twenty years of retirement together, having traveled widely to various parts of the world, and having spent many happy hours bowling, fishing, and dancing. He was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Kettering and was actively involved in church activities. He was predeceased by his son James Henry McRae in 1950, and his wife Rita in 2003. Surviving are his daughter Mary Ann McRae M.D. of Springfield, Illinois, and his daughter and son-in-law Janice and Lawrence S. Broda M.D. of Falmouth, Maine. Also surviving are his two grandchildren Jessica Broda of Falmouth, Maine and Zachary Broda of Yarmouth, Maine, along with his great-granddaughter Madison Broda of Falmouth, Maine, and many loving friends and relatives primarily located in the Ohio and Massachusetts areas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St.Charles Borromeo Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd., Kettering. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery alongside his wife Rita and his son Jimmy. In lieu of flowers, please perform an act of kindness and respect for someone in memory of Albert.
