Michael Bruce Laurie, age 42, of Danville, AR died Tuesday, February 8, 2000. He was born June 12, 1957 in Dallas, TX to Elouise Castleberry Laurie and the late Charles A. Laurie. He was a 1975 Danville High School graduate, attended Ouachita Baptist University and was a 16 year employee for Yell County Working in various capacities. He was a devoted husband, father and son, and an avid sports fan and member of the Danville Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Beecher and Cordia Castleberry and an uncle, Robert B. Castleberry.

Survivors are his wife, Stacey Stamps Laurie; one daughter, Madison Alexis Laurie of Danville, AR; his mother, Elouise Castleberry Laurie of Danville, AR; one uncle, Bill W. Castleberry of Danville, AR; his father and mother-in-law, Noral D. and Janell Lambert Stamps of Waldron, AR and a brother-in-law, Brad D. Stamps of Waldron, AR.

Funeral service was Friday, February 11, 2000 at the Danville Church of Christ with Bro. John McCourt officiating. Interment was in Earl Ladd Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home or Danville, AR. Pallbearers were, David and Dee McCormick, Ritchie Mathis, Brad Stamps, Jerry Payne, Ronnie Davis, Kenny Bell and Mike Gault. Honorary were, Charlie Sloan, Paul Wilson, Judge Jimmy Witt and Montie Amrine.
