John William Wolfe, 61, of Mansfield died May 10, 1983 in Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Services were held in Stensel-Calvert-Belangee Funeral Home, Mansfield with burial in Mansfield cemetery. Military rites were accorded.

Mr. Wolfe was born February 10, 1922 in Goose Creek Township, Piatt County, s/o Jack G. and Ida Scott Wolfe. He married Carolyn Avis Carr April 12, 1970 in Champaign County. She died January 22, 1983. Surviving are his daughters: Carolyn D. Vineyard, Chicago Heights; Patricia Newman, Mahomet; Cheryl Hayman, Tolono; brother: Dale of Monticello; sisters: Velna Heckman, Monticello; Betty Chalk, Champaign; Dorothy Logue, Decatur; and six grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Wolfe was a retired maintenance carpenter for Mercy Hospital, Urbana. He was a WW II Army veteran and member of Kelso Garver American Legion Post. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post.
