Mrs. Annie Lucille Reed Flanagan, age 72, of Deerfield Road, Young Harris passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2002 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Flanagan was born on June 5, 1929 in Union County, the daughter of the late James Monroe Reed and the late Essie Bridges Reed. She was a Union County native and a lifelong resident of Towns and Union counties. She was retired from the Brumby, Knitting Mills of Young Harris. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Flanagan are her loving husband of fifty four years, Tom Flanagan of Young Harris; one son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Irma Flanagan of Young Harris; one grandson, Todd Flanagan of Young Harris; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 2, 2002 at 2 pm from the Cornerstone Baptist Church with the Rev. Ricky Rogers and Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating. Special music was presented by James and Rita Hooper and Brenda and Sandra Shook. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Allen Nichols, Steve Holloway, Ed Fortenberry, Hoyt King, Sandy Smith, and Terry Stroud. Interment followed in the Old Union Baptist Cemetery.
