Mrs. Amelia R. Evans, 61, of 220 S. Lee Ave., Lodi, died early Thursday morning in a local hospital following a short illness. She was born in Russia, came to the United States in 1908, and settled in Herrington, Kan., where she grew up and attended school. She lived in Kansas City, Mo. prior to moving to Lodi in 1941. She married William G. Evans at Lodi March 28, 1943, and worked with him for the Pacific Fruit Exchange until 1945. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, William Evans of Lodi; three sons, Robert Lee Schlenker of Nashville, Tenn., Frank A. Evans of Arcata and William Evans of Lodi; three sisters, Mrs. Mollie Irving of Oakland, Mrs. Elizabeth Weimer and Mrs. Marie Beard, both of Lodi, and four grandchildren.
