He witnessed the baptism of Catrijntje Wynants , daughter of Pieter Wynants and Anna Maria Richaud, on 29 April 1694 at Old First Dutch Reformed Church, Breuckelen (Brooklyn), Kings Co., Long Island, New York, (witnesses: Catrijna Vroom, Joris Hoochlant).
Joris Dirckszen Hooglant appeared on the census in August 1707 or September 1707 at Staten Island, Richmond Co., New York, as George hogland, age 40.
His will was dated on 19 May 1711 proved 13 May 1712. Joras Hoglandt of Staten Island, being sick and weak. Eldest son Dirck Hoglandt, £5, and also my gun when he is of age. I also leave to him all my lands and meadows when of age, and he is to pay the rest of his brothers and sisters, £500. If he dies under age, the lands are to go to my son Daniel. To wife Katherine, the sole use and benefit of my estate during the minority of my sons, and after they ae of age she shall have use of one third of the estate. If both of my sons die then the property is to go to my children, Katherine, Elizabeth, Maritie, Dirck, Alske, Daniel, Amitie and Sarah. Appoints wife as executor. Witnesses: John Woglum, Jr., Andies Bowman, Oswald Foord.

have resided on Staten Island after his marriage, and until his
death, in [either] 1711/12, occupying the farm of his father. His will,
dated May 19, 1711, and proved May 13, 1712, makes mention of his
wife and eight children; and being very sick, he signs with his
mark "8," the name being written "Joris Hogelandt."
