Jean Gilbert, age 89, of Warrior, Alabama passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022. Jean was born on February 16, 1933.
Jean retired from the Jefferson County Board of Education were she served for over 25 years as a Cafeteria Worker. She was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church in Hayden, AL. She enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, and cooking for others.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus P. Lang and Gracie L Harden Lang; her husband, Willard Gilbert; and her seven brothers and five sisters.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Melonie Gilbert Booth and her husband, John Booth; two grandchildren, Britney Truitt Heerten and her husband Jonathan Heerten; and Tyler Eric Truitt and his wife, Soraya Hamar; step grandchildren: Amanda Headley and her husband, Jacob Headley and their sons Luke and Drake Headley; and Brittany Jones and her husband, Heath Jones and son Jenson Jones, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A visitation for Jean will be held Friday, April 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, Gardendale, AL; funeral service at 11:00 AM, followed by her burial in Mount Zion Cemetery, 2427 Corner Road, Warrior, AL.
