Mrs. Esther Fritz, age 77, a resident of Gary, SD passed away April 26, 1986 at the Canby Community Hospital in Canby, MN.
Mrs. Fritz was born May 3, 1908 at Lynd, MN, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Hundertmark. At eight years of age she moved with her parents to Moritz, SD. As a young woman she worked at the Gary Hotel in Gary. She was united in marriage to Howard Fritz on December 30, 1926 at Clear Lake. After their marriage they farmed near Gary until 1969 when they retired and moved into Gary. Her husband passed away in 1978.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Gary, the Peden-Cole American Legion Auxiliary, the Gate City Senior Citizens, Friendly Neighbors Club and the Grandmothers Club.
She is survived by two sons, Donald of Gary and Elmer of Clear Lake; three daughters, Mrs. Rudy (Vera) Meyer of Marietta, MN, Mrs. Norman (Betty) Engebretson of Marietta, MN and Mrs. William (Delores) Meyer of Canby, Mn,; seventeen grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Kamrath of Canby, MN and Mrs. Louise Battles of Gary. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandchild, her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held on April 29, 1986 at 10:30 am from the United Methodist Church in Gary with the Rev. William Gran officiating.
