ALBERT J. "AL" GRIEBE, SR.

Al GRIEBE died January 14, 2008 at his home in Hartford, Iowa. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, January 18, at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home with burial following at AVON CEMETERY, Polk County, Iowa. A visitation will be from 12 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Al was born May 16, 1929 in Detroit, MI. He was an AIR FORCE VETERAN and a truck driver for his entire life. He retired in 1992 from Midwest Drivers (3M) and was a member of the Teamsters Local 147. He enjoyed Nascar Racing (Kasey Kahne), Figure 8 racing, Prairie Meadows and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; his daughters, Shirley GRIEBE of Bay City, Michigan, Cynthia "Tokey Sue" (Rick) OWENS of Pleasantville, Iowa; sons, Albert (Tricia) GRIEBE JR. of Des Moines, Iowa. Morgan (Mel) GRIEBE of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; sister, Lou Ann LAWLER of Alger, Michigan; sister-in-law, Evelyn GRIEBE of Essexville, Michigan; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers, one sister, two daughters, one son, and one grandson.
We would like to thank Niki "Sunshine", Sue Mc., Sue M. and the rest of the staff at MERCY HOSPICE; Rita and the staff at the VA HOSPITAL.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to MERCY HOSPICE.
