Harry A. Pieschke, age 97, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the local hospital. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Watertown. Rev. Keith Peterson will officiate. Music will be provided by Ellen Heisner as organist.

Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service starting at 6:30 p.m.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Military gravesides honors will be conducted by Frank H. Adams Post #750 of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Watertown, Codington County Post #17 of the American Legion, Watertown, and the Military Funeral Honors Teams of the SD Army National Guard. Active pallbearers will be Teresa Bertossi, Eric Bertossi, Sophia Bertossi, Jered Pieschke, Kenny Schieber, and Kevin Schieber.

Harry was born on July 31, 1925, in Willow Lake, SD, to Albert and Lily (Tolzien) Pieschke. He attended school through the eighth grade in the Hauge Township, Clark County. Harry worked on the family farm until he enlisted in the United States Army on October 18, 1945. He served as a Teletype Operator during World War II stationed in Korea. Harry was honorably discharged on February 2, 1947.

On September 9, 1948, Harry married Aletha Pomeroy in Clark, SD. The couple lived on a farm near Henry and moved into Watertown in 1955. Harry worked as a truck driver for General Supply and then at Minnesota Rubber as a molder for twenty two and half years.

He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #217, VFW Post 750, and the Senior Citizen Center. Harry enjoyed dancing, reading, camping, and fishing.

Harry is survived by his son Warren (Jacqui) Pieschke, of Sierra Vista, AZ; daughter Karen Hovde (Chuck Bedbury), of St. Francis, MN; grandchildren Kevin (Licia) Schieber, Kelli Rogers, Kenny (Desi) Schieber, Teresa (Eric) Bertossi, and Jered (Nicole) Pieschke; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents; wife Aletha; brothers Henry, Donald, Richard, and Earl; and sisters Grace, and Darlene.
