Elsa P. Hake

Elsa P. Hake, 85, of 3433 N. 6th St. a current resident of the Sheboygan Retirement Home, died Sunday morning, April 26, 1998, at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, following a lengthy illness.

Elsa was born March 12, 1906, in Lincoln, Neb., to Henry and Emilie (Hense) Pinnecker. The family came to Sheboygan in her youth. She attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Sheboygan High School, class of 1931.

On June 17, 1933, she married Walter V. Hake, retired chairman of the board of Diamond Business Graphics Inc. Mr. Hake preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 1988.

Mrs. Hake was baptized and confirmed member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was a former member of Shoreline Women's Club.

Elsa enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and would look forward to the arrival of spring each year to begin caring for her garden. She would also delight in serving her acclaimed ethnic food dishes for her family to savor at get-togethers.

Suriviors include a son and daughter-in-law, Randal J. and Judy F. Hake and a daughter, Kathleen D. Simnow, Kathy's special friend, Dennis R. Leffin, all of Sheboygan; three grandsons, Trenton, F. (Debra) Hake, Drew R. (Laura) Hake and Tyler J. Hake; two granddaughters, Heidi G. Hake and Jennifer N. Minor; four great-grandchildren, Amanda, Colton, Tanner, and Quinn Hake and a sister, Leah Schmitz, Sheboygan and nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Karen Dahmer. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Waldemar Pinnecker Arthur Pinnecker and infant brother Henry Pinnecker and a sister, Ida Dahmar.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 6 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Galan D. Walther, pastor will officiate. Entombment will take place in Garden Terrace Mausoleum. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church, on Tuesday, from 3 p.m. until the time of services. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a meal in the church fellowship hall, following the services.

A memorial fund has been established in her name, for the Sheboygan Area Lutheran High School, Camp Evergreen in Sheboygan or to the charity of the donor's choice.
