Erwin Karl Dietsche, son of Otto Dietsche born in Waldshut Baden, Germany, April 5, 1856 and died in Freiburg, Germany March 4, 1935. The mother Anna (Wuerthner) Dietshce was born in Wuerttemburg, Germany May 14, 186, was married at Waldshut on Jan. 27, 1882.

Dr. Erwin Karl Dietsche complemented his elementary schooling by attending universities at Freiburg, Jena, Kiel, and Muenchen, Germany. He graduated from the Medical Schhol at Freiburg in 1910 and his internship was in the City Hospital at Konstanz, anjd at the Dept. for Surgery of the University Freiburg. From 1911 to 1914 he was assistant surgeon of the City Hospital at Konstanz. He served on the staff of the German Imperial Army in the occupied territory of France from 1914 to 1917. Dr. Deitsche had located at Mannheim, Germany , in 1916, and was in charge of military hospitals there, at the same tiem serving as chief surgeon of the City Hospital in that city and holding this position until he left Germany for the United States in1922. He came first to Bend, Oregon in the spring of that year, then passed the State Board of Medical Examiners at Portland, Oregon on January 12, 1923. The next month he established his practice as physician and surgeron in Klamth Falls.

December 19, 1916 in Freiburg, Germany, Erwin Karl Dietsche and Erna Goebelbecker were married. Two children were born to them at Mannheim, Germany; Waltraud Edelgard on Feb. 1, 1918 and Heinz Juergen was born Aug. 2, 1919.
