Sigrid Hove was born Jan. 11, 1901, in Fosston, Minn., the daughter of Ole and Sigrid Hove. Her mother died in childbed, her father remarried and she was raised by Ole and Lucy Hove in the Fosston area. She was educated in Fosston and married Lloyd Whaley Nov. 19, 1919, in Grand Forks. They farmed in the Orr, N.D., area and later near Niagara, N.D. Lloyd Whaley died Mach 16, 1949, and she moved to Grand Forks in 1952. She was a cook for Gamma Phi Sorority at UND and moved to Valley Memorial Home Jan. 15, 1988.

Survivors are her daughters, Stella (Mrs. Leon) Urness, Grand Forks, Gladys (Mrs. James) Erickson, Cumming, Ga., Marlys (Mrs. Leonard) Berdal, Petersburg, N.D., and Myrna (Mrs. Richard) Larson, San Antonio, Texas, 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; sisters, Stella (Mrs. Lyle) Pitt, Riviera, Ariz., Emma (Mrs. Orlean) Swenson, Brea, Calif., Ruth (Mrs. Ole) Underberg, Fosston; Joanne (Mrs. Henry) Olson, Fosston; Ragna (Mrs. Raymond) Krogstad, Fosston, Lilian (Mrs. Lynn) Siverson, Fosston; and a brother, Joe Hove, Fosston.

She was preceded in death by sons, Kermit and Sam; twin daughters Lucy Mae and Lois Marie; grandchildren, Lyle Erickson, Rial, Mark and Brenda Whaley; sister, Ella Hagemeister, and brothers, Otto and Orvin Hove.

Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday in Chapel of the Valley Memorial Home Eldercare Center, Grand Forks. Graveside services will be at noon Tuesday at Elk Valley Church Cemetery , rural McCanna, N.D.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. today in Bakke Funeral Home, Larimore, and one hour before services in the chapel.
