Doris K. Kaufmann, age 72, of Washburn, died Tuesday, September 2, 2003, at the Memorial Medical Center in Ashland. She was born October 8, 1930 in Sheboygan, the daughter of John and Anna Marie (Jurk) Kraemer.
Doris graduated from Central High School in Sheboygan in 1949. She married William O. Kaufmann on September 26, 1953 in Sheboygan. Upon her husband's retirement in 1994, they moved to the Washburn area. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Ashland.
She is survived by her husband, William, of Washburn; two sons: William John Kaufmann, of Washburn, and John William (Diana) Kaufmann, of Batavia; three daughters: Peggy (Scott) Gronbeck of West Bend; Mary (Joel) Benz of Campbellsport; and Lizabeth (Steve) Franchek, of Washburn; eight grandchildren; a great grandson; two brothers; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 5, at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels at 1201 N. 8th St. Sheboygan, with Rev. Robert Novotney officiating. Interment will follow at the Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan.
The Roberts Funeral Home in Ashland is handling the local arrangements.
