Joseph Francis DiGangi, age 98, of Denison, Texas, passed away September 26, 2022. A larger-than-life personality that brought laughter into every room, Joseph was lovingly known as Josey, Josey Pies, Joe, Dad, PawPaw and Big PawPaw throughout his life.
Joe was born April 13, 1924, in Westerly, Rhode Island to Francesco and Rosalie (Lombardo) DiGangi. He married Barbara Ann Burns on December 8, 1972.
Some of the many people who will miss him include his son, Joe DiGangi Jr. and wife Sue, of Prosper, Texas; three grandchildren, Lisa Kelley, Steven DiGangi and spouse Valerie, and Karen Berg-DiGangi and spouse Ariel; four great grandchildren, Addy, Tessa, McKenna, and Joey; and three siblings, Frank DiGangi of Florida, Louie Faillace and spouse Linda, and Mary Wilska and spouse Jon.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara and son, Robert Joseph DiGangi.
Whether you grew up with him in Pawcatuck, served with him in the Army during World War II, enjoyed his infamous sandwich shop in Dallas, loved drinking a beer with him at the VFW, devoured his delicious cookies, or simply had the pleasure of meeting him, his presence will be missed by all who knew him.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 314 N Rusk Ave, Denison, TX 75020, on Monday, October 3, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. A graveside service will be held at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243, on Monday, October 3, 2022, at 2:30 P.M. Family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday, October 2, 2022, from 3 to 5 P.M. at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home, 631 W Woodard Street, Denison, TX 75020.
