Frederick Bampton Tremaine, the only child of Dr. William Allen Tremaine and Ada Bampton Tremaine, was born in Providence on 6 February 1890. He died of unnamed causes 11 months later, on 12 January 1891, the death announcement in the Providence Journal, published on 14 January, simply reading, "In this city, Jan. 12, at 4:30 p.m., Frederick Bampton Tremaine" (p. 5).
