Shirley graduated from Holcomb High School in 1960 where she was the all time points leader on the girls basketball team. She was offered a contract by the All-American Red Heads Professional Women's Basketball Team. She worked as a waitress at several restaurants including Myers Dairy, Coffee Ann and Wheatlands. She later was a CNA in Larned, Kansas and Garden Valley Retirement Village. She was an excellent Fastball Softball pitcher and first baseman and also played for the for the Fansler Tires Womens Slo-pitch Softball team. She also enjoyed drawing, art, playing the organ, coaching youth softball and bowling.
She is survived by her 5 Children- Mike Nuzum of Deerfield, Jeff Nuzum of Pleasanton, Nebraska, Cathy Nuzum (Amanda Nannen) of Omaha, Nebraska, Alan (Tracy) Nuzum of Chicago, Illinois and Tyler Nuzum (Sam Wiser) of Vancouver, Washington, Sister- Lorene Quint of Garden City, 6 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, 2 Brothers Wilbur Galliart and Richard Galliart and 2 Sisters- Wilma Key and Mary Ann Rickets.
