LeRoy was born on July 31, 1933, the son of Leo and Elisabeth (Nielsen) Pedersen on the family farm north of Meriden. He graduated from Meriden High School in 1951. He then enlisted in the US Army serving his country during the Korean War from 1954 to 1956 when he received his honorable discharge from the Army.
When he returned home, he farmed in the Meriden area from 1956-1984. He was united in marriage to Shirley (Gottsche) Ducommun in 1977. He later went to work at Schoon Construction and Screen Builders from 1984 to 2002 when he retired.
He was a past member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir, was a member of the church council, taught Sunday School, was a committee member of the County 4-H youth program and county FHA committee. After moving to the lakes area, he became a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Les and Paul Pedersen, and sister-in-law Marilyn Pedersen.
