Son of Franz Glaser (1826-1885) & Maria (Berger) Glaser (1830-1888).

He was born in Jetzles, Austria. When Charles was 4 years old he and his family immigrated to the United States (in 1870). The family settled in Wisconsin before moving to Nebraska in 1876.

Charles and Anna Bernt married on Feb 16, 1885 in St. Michael's Church in Spalding, Nebraska.
