Complications resulting from injuries sustained in an automobile accident, March 17, caused the death Wednesday, of Wayne Huffaker, 22, of 921 Dresend Court. He died in a local hospital at 10:05 a.m.
Mr. Huffaker died of a brain abcess which developed from a compound skull fracture and other injuried suffered when the bicycle he was riding collided at Ninth East and Sixth South streets with a truck driven by Walter W. Rouse, 19 of Thirty Third south and Twelth West streets.
Following the accident, Mr. Huffaker was taken to a hospital where he was treated until April 15 and then discharged on April 20, he suffered a relapse and was returned to the hospital where he had been since.
Born in Evanston Wyoming, February 13, 1911, he was taken to Magna by his parents the following year. He attended the public schools of Magna and later became a student at the University of Utah and the Utah State Agricultural College. He was a former member of the basketball team of the U.S.A.C. and was a member of the Phi Kappa Iota fraternity. Mr. Huffaker moved to Salt Lake from Magna about six month months ago.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Guila Rolfe Huffaker, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Huffaker, Magna, four brothers, Marvin Huffaker, Island Falls Canada, Sheral, Clair and Kenneth Huffaker, Magna, and two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Leggett, Salt Lake and Miss Lois Huffaker of Magna.
